Fees and Payments
At Woodshop Marketplace, we aim to provide a transparent and straightforward payment system for both buyers and sellers. Below, you’ll find details on how our fees work, accepted payment methods, and when sellers can expect payouts.
1. Seller Fees
Woodshop Marketplace charges sellers certain fees to cover the costs of operating the platform. Below is a breakdown of the fees sellers can expect:
Listing Fee
- Cost: Free (for now, you can adjust this in the future).
- Details: It’s currently free to list your digital woodworking plans on Woodshop Marketplace. As the platform evolves, listing fees may be introduced, and sellers will be notified in advance.
Transaction Fee
- Cost: 4.5% of the total sale price (including any taxes or handling fees).
- Details: When you make a sale, Woodshop Marketplace charges a 4.5% transaction fee on the total amount of the sale. This fee helps cover the operational costs of maintaining the marketplace.
Payment Processing Fees
- Payment processing is handled through Stripe and PayPal. Both services charge fees for processing transactions. These fees are separate from the marketplace transaction fees.
Stripe Fees
- 2.9% + 30¢ per successful transaction for buyers in the U.S.
- International payments may incur additional fees based on currency conversions and the buyer’s location.
PayPal Fees
- 2.9% + 30¢ per successful transaction for buyers in the U.S.
- Like Stripe, international payments may be subject to additional fees.
2. Buyer Payments
Buyers can make secure payments using the following methods:
Accepted Payment Methods
- Credit/Debit Cards: All major credit and debit cards are accepted via our secure payment gateway powered by Stripe.
- PayPal: Buyers can also use their PayPal accounts to make purchases, providing additional flexibility for those who prefer this payment method.
Payment Security
- Your payment information is securely processed through third-party services, Stripe and PayPal. Woodshop Marketplace does not store or have access to your credit card or PayPal account information.
- All payments are encrypted to protect your data.
3. Seller Payouts
Sellers on Woodshop Marketplace can easily receive earnings from their sales. Here’s how payouts work:
Payout Schedule
- All sales on Woodshop Marketplace are held for 7 days after the transaction is completed. This holding period allows time for any potential refund requests that meet our refund criteria.
- After the 7-day period has passed, sellers can request a payout via PayPal or bank transfer if they have accumulated more than $50 USD in sales.
Minimum Payout Threshold
- Sellers must have accumulated more than $50 USD in total sales to request a payout. Once this threshold is met, sellers can choose to receive their payout through PayPal or a bank transfer.
Stripe Payouts
- Payments processed through Stripe will typically be released within 2-7 business days after the seller requests a payout, depending on your country and bank.
PayPal Payouts
- PayPal payouts are typically available instantly after the 7-day holding period and upon request, but sellers should check PayPal’s specific terms for any delays or restrictions.
4. Additional Fees (Optional or Future)
Woodshop Marketplace does not charge any additional fees at this time. However, in the future, sellers may encounter:
- Advertising Fees: If you choose to promote your listings through Woodshop Marketplace’s advertising tools (when available), additional advertising fees may apply.
- Subscription Fees: If Woodshop Marketplace introduces premium seller accounts with enhanced features, subscription fees may be introduced.
5. Currency and Conversions
Currency of Payment
- All transactions on Woodshop Marketplace are processed in USD unless stated otherwise. Sellers are responsible for understanding any currency conversion fees applied by their bank or payment service provider.
International Payments
- Sellers may be subject to additional fees for receiving payments from international buyers due to currency conversion or cross-border processing fees. These fees are handled by Stripe or PayPal, and Woodshop Marketplace is not responsible for these charges.
6. Refunds and Chargebacks
Refunds
- Refunds are subject to our [Return and Refund Policy]. Buyers should contact sellers directly for any issues with their purchases, and sellers may issue refunds via Stripe or PayPal.
- During the 7-day holding period, if a buyer requests a refund that meets our refund criteria (such as product misrepresentation or file corruption), the seller will be notified, and the funds may be withheld.
Chargebacks
- In cases where buyers dispute charges, they may initiate a chargeback through their bank or payment provider. Sellers will be notified of any chargebacks and will have the opportunity to resolve the issue. If a chargeback is processed, the seller is responsible for any fees incurred as a result of the chargeback.
